As a homeowner it is your responsibility to stay informed by attending monthly Board meetings. This is the official means of communication between homeowners and the Board. Although you may raise a concern or issue keep in mind it may not be immediately addressed at the meeting. The items will be placed on a priority list and the Board may ask the homeowner to form a committee to present resolution options. Between meetings you may send your written concerns to the management company. However, outside of an emergency the items will not be addressed until the monthly Board meeting so that all items are handled through the Board decision process and minutes documentation.
The community newsletter and the posting of the previous 6 months of Board minutes is a courtesy and not a requirement. Board minutes are approved at the following months meeting and therefore are not posted immediately. If you do not attend the Board meetings, it is not the responsibility of the volunteer Board or the management company to keep you informed or email you detailed information covered in the meetings.
Board positions are non-paid and on a volunteer basis. These volunteers have jobs, families and other commitments. Your current Board has collectively volunteeredthousands of hours to your community.
With 240 units and only 4 current volunteer Board members it is up to the homeowners to get involved, attend meetings and volunteer their time in the community.
